What was, what is, what will be? While we could hear the raindrops on the roof of the Café Mondial building in the Palmenhauspark, members of the association were in a good mood to discuss intensively what has been achieved so far as well as the challenges ahead in five workshops.
The topics were manifold, comprising how intercultural communication actually works, whether and in what form Café Mondial wants to engage politically in the future, how to improve the internal structures of the association in order to guarantee transparency, and how to walk the fine line between volunteering and paid work. The first official general assembly since the founding of the association made clear what can be possible when motivated and creative people get involved together – and so, formal but nevertheless important acts such as the election of the board and two auditors almost got a minor matter during this colorful and groundbreaking day.
